Mia has worked with people at a variety of skill levels, from working professional singers, to young aspiring recording artists, to people who enjoy singing purely for fun. She is currently accepting new vocal students. She is now booking free 20-minute consultations.
Mia has been training in voice for 25 years and singing professionally since she was 15. She received a BFA in Musical Theater from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), one of the top musical theater programs in the world, and has trained in a variety of styles, including gospel, jazz, opera, musical theater, pop, soul, and R&B.
She has worked as a session singer in recording studios, on Broadway in Kinky Boots, and on cruise ships, touring with the viral YouTube band Post Modern Jukebox. She also released a jingle demo video that went viral on YouTube, earning her an interview with Jerry Seinfeld on Good Morning America. You can see more of her bio here.
Mia has worked with Broadway for Arts Education hosting Art Share sessions with the students of the Urban Assembly, where underserved students bring in and perform original material. She is also trained to facilitate and hold sacred space during online international meditation retreats with Siddha Maha Yoga. Mia’s own journey with yoga and training in breathwork plays a big part in her approach to singing from an honest and fully embodied place.
“My emphasis is on vocal health and creating a safe learning space. By vocal health, I mean developing the techniques and vocal athleticism you need for a long-running Broadway show, performing in a club, or a long recording session. Within that, I want to help you foster a connection with your authentic voice. It takes courage to be heard and take up space. I want to create a playground in which we can let singing be an act of joy and discovery.”
